Due to current copyright laws, presenting content from other sites is a violation of their property rights. Given the short time that such content has any value and even less historical value, one would think that copyright laws would be rather lenient in this regard. However, upon researching the nature of current statutes this is not the case. Until such laws catch up with the reality of the Internet, “TECH NOTES”, will rely on a new format that instead provides legal links to those news stories that are thought to be important and relavant to the careers of professional technicians and technical managers.
Though only a single complaint has been lodged against this site for such a violation, “TECH NOTES” prefers to be pro-active in this situation by changing its format to avoid any further issues.
It is most unfortunate since the concept behind this news-site was to not only provide relavant industry news to career IT personnel but also to provide a pleasing format without all of the eye-noise that is so commonly associated with online industry news.
Where content can be presented in the original format, “TECH NOTES” will continue to do so.
I extend my appreciation for those who have enjoyed this site up to now and I hope you will continue to make this one of the web-addresses that you rely on for relavant industry news and tools.
